Background:
|
Strengthening communication and collaboration between MPS schools and families is an important aspect of helping students achieve academic success. Parent coordinators play a critical role in providing families with the knowledge they need to make informed educational decisions and to effectively engage with their children’s schools. MPS family engagement efforts focus on providing training and support to staff to create a school culture that honors and respects that families provide the foundation for the learning process. The Family and Community Engagement team has developed an integrated approach to support these efforts across the district. Community partnerships such as the Families and Schools Together program help schools engage in meaningful and sustained partnerships with parents in pursuit of educational success for their children.
