Background: The Employee Handbook contains a provision that allows for employees that also serve as collective bargaining representatives to be released from work or obtain a leave under certain conditions. The Administration is seeking to update the language regarding union leaves and releases to provide more clarity as it relates to purpose and process.
Fiscal Impact Statement: This item does not authorize expenditures.
Implementation and Assessment Plan Upon approval by the Board, the Administration will update the Employee Handbook with the attached revisions to the union leave/release provision.
Recommendation: The Administration recommends that the Board approve the adjustments to the Employee Handbook as presented in the attachment.
